Student may be eligible for financial aid for Summer sessions depending on their enrollment status, eligibility and the availability of financial aid funds. Mount Aloysius College offers the following sources of financial aid for Summer sessions: Federal Pell grant, Federal Work-Study, Federal Stafford loans and alternative loans.
Students wishing to apply for financial aid for summer must complete the current year Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). This form must be on file to determine Federal Pell Grant eligibility and to process a Federal Stafford Loan. In addition, any student wishing to receive any type of financial aid must be matriculated into a degree program and students are asked to sign up for ALL classes for summer before a determination can be made regarding their aid eligibility. All students wishing to apply for a Federal Stafford loan for Summer must be enrolled for at least 6 credits for the entire summer AND complete a "Summer Loan Request" form at the Financial Aid Office. This form must be received by the Financial Aid Office before the last day of the Summer II semester in order for the Stafford Loan to be processed. A Master Promissory Note (MPN) must also be on file at their lending institution. Student loans will not be processed without the "Summer Loan Request" form on file.
Note: The amount borrowed from the summer sessions takes away from the total amount that can be borrowed from the upcoming fall/spring semesters. Please refer to the College catalog for additional Financial Aid information.
