I take pleasure in being a nurse and have completed 13 years of service. My first career was in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics, before entering the nursing arena. My past nursing endeavors include medical surgical, pediatrics, legal and forensics, research (clinical trials), community health, nursing education, and mental health nursing. I have worked in several different states. I am currently the RN-BSN Department Chair at Mount Aloysius College. I teach in the AD and RN to BSN programs. Mental health nursing is my specialty and I am course coordinator for NU275 (Mental Health Nursing). I obtained my BSN & MSN from University of Pittsburgh in 2004 & 2005 and completed my DNP in 2011 at Carlow University.
My bibliography includes publications and scholarly activities. I have presented on a variety of clinical and educational topics throughout the United States and International.
I am an active participant in several community organizations; I am a volunteer for the Medical Reserve Corps and Healing Patch (Home Nursing Agency). In addition, I am a member of the National League of Nursing (NLN) and Sigma Theta Tau International.
