Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College has invited regional high school students to their annual HealthQuest program. HealthQuest will take place Thursday, October 24th starting at 10:00 a.m. The event will take place in Health and Fitness Center on campus.
HealthQuest is an opportunity for high school students to explore careers in the health sciences. Mount Aloysius College is the premier college in Western Pennsylvania for health careers, offering majors in nursing, surgical technician, medical imaging and physical therapy. The college’s affiliations with regional medical, dental and pharmaceutical schools continues attracting increasing numbers of students majoring in pre-medical, pre-dental and pre-pharmacy.
Students will participate in hands-on demonstrations in all health-related programs and have opportunities to discuss career options with faculty, many of whom are also in active clinical practice. Current Mount Aloysius students studying within the health science programs will be available to discuss their academic preparation for their chosen careers.
A highlight of this year’s Mount Aloysius HealthQuest will be a keynote address by Dr. Barbara Cliff, president and CEO of Windber Medical Center. Dr. Cliff, who also serves on the Board of Trustees at Mount Aloysius College, will participate in a panel discussion with Mount Aloysius Nursing Division Chair Rebecca Zukowski and sophomore Ian Helsel, a Mount Aloysius biology major.
Tours of the Mount Aloysius College health related laboratories, included their extensive Nursing Simulation Center will take place throughout the day. A scholastic quiz challenge will top off the day with good-natured fun competition.
