Cresson, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius College Mock Trial Team concluded its season this past weekend at the American Mock Trial Association’s Regional Tournament held at Penn State University, State College, Pa. The Mount Aloysius team finished just one ballot short of advancing to the Opening Round of the National Championship Series. At the Regionals, Mount Aloysius scored wins over Elizabethtown College, SUNY Binghamton University and Penn State. Mount Aloysius lost to Washington and Lee University which later tied for first-place with the best record at the Regionals.
Mount Aloysius College Junior Teresa Goc, of York, Pa. won Outstanding Regional Witness in the Awards Ceremony that concluded the Tournament.
Prior to the Regionals at Penn State, the Mount Aloysius Mock Trial Team competed successfully in the Johns Hopkins University Tournament, Baltimore, Md., the Carnegie-Mellon University Tournament, Pittsburgh, Pa., and at the Happy Valley Invitational, State College Pa.
Attorney Dave Andrews, the Mount Aloysius Coach is optimistic and anticipating next year’s competition. “We are looking forward to next year with most of our Team returning,” said Attorney Andrews. “With only three team members graduating this year, added Andrews, “we anticipate that our experienced team members will continue offering significant contributions.”
