The Criminal Justice Addictions Professional Certificate through Mount Aloysius College is a twelve credit, post-bachelor’s degree certificate program. This certificate is designed for working professionals in various human services fields, including substance abuse counselors, healthcare professionals, teachers, school administrators, school counselors, social workers, juvenile probation officers and other corrections-related occupations.
The online program is designed to assist professionals in understanding the complex dynamics of addiction and to enable them to work more effectively with clients, students, patients, inmates, family members and others affected directly or indirectly by substance abuse. The curriculum of this certificate meets the academic requirements for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Certification Board’s Certified Criminal Justice Addictions Professional (CCJAP) classification.
Courses include: CR 293 Substance Use and Abuse in Criminal Justice, PY 331 Introduction to Counseling, CR 310 Treatment of Addiction in the Criminal Justice System, and CR 420 Criminology Internship.
