Under a joint agreement between Chatham University, Neumann College, and St Francis University and Mount Aloysius College, undergraduate students who have successfully completed specific core course requirements at Mount Aloysius College may continue their education in physical therapy either one of the cooperative schools in this program of study.  A student will attend MAC for four years while completing various requirements and then complete the doctoral program of study at one of our cooperative institutions. This varies by institution, for example, at Chatham University, the graduate program is 2.5 years.

Why Study Physical Therapy at Mount Aloysius College

What do PTs Do?

Physical Therapists can help patients reduce pain and increase mobility. They can help patients manage their condition by providing exercises and techniques that can be done in the home on the patient’s own terms. They can also help patients to develop fitness and wellness oriented programs for healthier and more active lifestyles.

Where Will I Work?

Physical Therapists are needed in more locations than physician offices, including:

  • Local, state and private hospitals
  • Home healthcare services
  • Nursing and residential care facilities

Who will teach me?

The Health Studies and Science and Mathematics Departments are comprised of full-time faculty who hold doctorate and bachelor’s degrees in their disciplines. The faculty in this program prepares the student towards their ultimate goal of earning their Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy after earning a Bachelor of Science Degree from Mount Aloysius College.
