The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) released the list of All-Sportsmanship Team performers for this past fall season. The Mounties placed seven student-athletes on the list, one for each sport. Known for his gutsy races in the early 1970s, Steve Prefontaine was America’s best hope for a medal at the Olympics in distance running. His lifelong love affair with the sport often produced memorable quotes about enduring pain and running as art. Running is not an easy task. About the competition, laymen and laywomen will ask, “Why do people do it?” Prefontaine gave a memorable response to that question, “Why do you run?”

Mount Aloysius Invites You to “Block Out” Cancer at Annual Pink Out

Cresson, Pa. – Pressing the message that early detection of breast cancer is the best road to a cure; Mount Aloysius College is joining forces with Windber Medical Center’s Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center. The public is invited to the “Pink Out” Volleyball game scheduled for Wednesday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Mount Aloysius Athletic Health and Fitness Center on campus as the Lady Mountie take on Franciscan University.
