Mount Aloysius Business Students Net Accounting Interviews

Cresson, Pa. – Three Mount Aloysius College business students earned interviews through the recent Accounting Consortium held late last month in Pittsburgh. One hundred and fifty students from 11 area colleges took part in the Accounting Consortium. Held in Pittsburgh’s Embassy Suites, several top accounting firms select area business students for interviews based upon resumes. The interviews were held to staff either full-time positions or accounting internships. The Mount Aloysius College students walked away with several interview opportunities each.

Mount Aloysius Invites You to “Block Out” Cancer at Annual Pink Out

Cresson, Pa. – Pressing the message that early detection of breast cancer is the best road to a cure; Mount Aloysius College is joining forces with Windber Medical Center’s Joyce Murtha Breast Care Center. The public is invited to the “Pink Out” Volleyball game scheduled for Wednesday, October 16th at 7:00 p.m. The event will be held in the Mount Aloysius Athletic Health and Fitness Center on campus as the Lady Mountie take on Franciscan University.

Mount Aloysius Names Tyler Sheikh AAD and Sports Information Director

Cresson, Pa.-Mount Aloysius College has announced the appointment of Tyler Sheikh as Assistant Athletic Director, where he will be responsible for all aspects of sports marketing and NCAA compliance. Mt Aloysius President Tom Foley said that Sheikh “brings excellent writing skills and a strong work ethic to his new post and has hit the ground running in his new assignment, just as he did when he took on the job of coaching both men’s and women’s soccer last year.”

Mount Aloysius Launches Autism-Oriented Behavioral Consulting Master Program

Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College is expanding its graduate programs to meet emerging community need in treating clients with autism-spectrum disorders. Their new Master of Science in Behavioral Specialist Consulting consists of 36-credits and offers students a path to obtain needed licensure in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a Behavioral Specialist.

Homecoming Weekend Caps Mercy Week at Mount Aloysius College

Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College, one of 16 colleges in the United States serving under the auspices of the Sisters of Mercy, will celebrate Mercy Week from September 23rd through September 29th. The week will be marked by time-honored Mercy traditions inspired by 186 years of service throughout the world. Mount Aloysius, founded in 1853, invites the community to celebrate the Mercy heritage that began in Dublin, Ireland on Sept. 24, 1827. On that day, the feast of Our Lady of Mercy, Catherine McAuley first opened the doors of her House of Mercy to the public on Baggot Street in Dublin.

Mount Aloysius Fall Ecumenical Luncheon Features Dr. Philip Jenkins

Cresson, Pa. – The Mount Aloysius College Office of Mission Integration announces the Ecumenical Luncheon and Lecture for Fall, 2013. Scheduled for Wednesday, October 9th at 12:30 p.m. in the Cosgrave Center Meeting Rooms, the MAC Fall Ecumenical Luncheon event is available to clergy, ministers and congregational leaders. Featured lecturer for the Ecumenical Lecture is Dr. Philip Jenkins. Dr. Jenkins will present a public lecture at 3:00 p.m. that same afternoon in historic Alumni Hall. The public is invited to attend that lecture free of charge. Dr. .Jenkins will discuss the “Implications of Global Christianity.”

Mount Aloysius Regionally Ranked by US News and World Reports

Cresson, Pa.- Mount Aloysius College was notified today that it is ranked among the top 40 Best Regional Colleges in the North by US News and World Reports. The list includes 84 colleges across New England—Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Vermont—and also includes New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware and Maryland. US News & World Report focused on the 2011-2012 academic year experience to quantify their designations.

Mount Aloysius College Awarded 2014 Military Friendly Schools ® Designation

Cresson, Pa.-Victory Media, the premier media entity for military personnel transitioning into civilian life, has named Mount Aloysius College to the coveted Military Friendly Schools® list. Mount Aloysius College was the first college in the region to achieve Military Friendly School status. This is the fifth consecutive year it has been named to the list.
