The Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) released the list of All-Sportsmanship Team performers for this past fall season. The Mounties placed seven student-athletes on the list, one for each sport. Mount Aloysius President Foley Shares Hurricane Katrina Relief Experience with Business Continuity Students

Cresson, Pa. – In the wake of the Philippines’ typhoon disaster, Professor Jeff Sunseri ‘s Business Continuity class invited Mount Aloysius College President Tom Foley to share his personal disaster management experience in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. During his tenure as CEO of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Red Cross, President Foley spent weeks leading a team of emergency responders as part of the Red Cross’ efforts in Biloxi, Mississippi.

Known for his gutsy races in the early 1970s, Steve Prefontaine was America’s best hope for a medal at the Olympics in distance running. His lifelong love affair with the sport often produced memorable quotes about enduring pain and running as art. Running is not an easy task. About the competition, laymen and laywomen will ask, “Why do people do it?” Prefontaine gave a memorable response to that question, “Why do you run?”

Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College Nursing Division graduates have exceeded the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) average pass rates at both the state and national levels. The NCLEX results reflect first-time test-takers between Oct. 1, 2012, and Sept. 30, 2013, which is the most current data available.
