Vox Nova is the "new voice" at Mount Aloysius College, a choral ensemble primarily concentrating its repertoire on the Renaissance (1450 - 1600) and Baroque (1600 - 1750) eras.
All members of the ensemble are full-time students at the College enrolled in various degree programs. In this way, Vox Nova is uniquely designed for the non-music major. Every performer is auditioned and must meet and maintain strict musical and academic criteria. They are awarded with membership in the chorus and scholarships and stipends from Mount Aloysius.
Vox Nova is both performance and educationally based. In addition to their performances on and off campus, the ensemble will share and showcase their talents with high school choral singers in workshops developed for the purpose of exposing young students to noteworthy music.
