Plant Camp - Let’s Grow Something Together!
Grades K - 3 (#0050727)
Cost: $79
People depend on plants for everything from food, clothing, and shelter to arts and medicines. This camp will introduce children to horticulture basics such as plant anatomy and the growing process. Plants of Pennsylvania will be emphasized as campers identify and craft with a variety of plants, including growing their own vegetable plant from seed!
About the instructor: Dr. Merrilee Anderson is an Associate Professor of Science and Mathematics at Mount Aloysius College. She also serves as the chairperson of the Science and Mathematics department.
Note: Weather permitting, students will be outside for much of this adventure. This is a hands-on, creative class in which participants will make take-home projects and get their hands dirty. Be sure to dress to make a mess!
