Greetings from the Project Director:
Welcome to the Telehealth Department at Mount Aloysius College! Established in 2003 as a department within the College's Nursing Division, the Telehealth Department is a result of our federally funded project titled Nursing Telehealth Applications Initiative. What is telehealth? One definition, from the US Depart of Health and Human Services, describes telehealth as the "use of electronic information and telecommunications technologies to support long-distance clinical health care, patient and professional health-related education, public health, and health administration." Essentially, we are using technology to break down the barriers of distance and time in providing improved access of both care to patients and education to students.
We thank you for visiting our site and hope that your interest in telehealth is sparked by reading about some of the work of the Telehealth Department at Mount Aloysius College.
