Diabetes and its complications are responsible for a tremendous individual and public health burden; and, the epidemic is projected to continue into the future. Health practitioners are compelled to deliver comprehensive diabetes care, of which effective diabetes education is an integral part. Traditional, positively-framed educational efforts of health care professionals do not necessarily translate into patient compliance with health care recommendations.
This research study investigated the responses of individuals with diabetes to message-framed education on foot care utilizing touch-screen kiosks. The impact of intervening variables including demographics, family history and factors related to the participant's physical condition were also examined.
