Beta Test

The VCP beta testing was also an observational study conducted during the 2005-2006 academic year. This iteration included the following changes:

• the clinical experience was changed to a burn patient at the Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas
• technology improvements provided enhanced sound quality and more video flexibility for accessing the patient  
• an improved quantitative research instrument that was better able to capture the perceptions of the experience by students/faculty with increased reliability was utilized for this research  
• an improved process that was semi-structured and included break periods during a 3½ hour session was implemented
