Impact of Legacy/Service Showcase

Sr. Helen Marie Burns, Ph.D. is in her fourth year as the Vice President for Mission Integration at Mount Aloysius College. In this role, she works to foster the identity of Mount Aloysius College as a Catholic institution sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. Specifically she provides and directs programs on the mission, philosophy, vision and values of the College for its various constituencies and coordinates ongoing assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of mission integration efforts. Additionally, she oversees the work of our Campus Ministry staff, and leads our institutional strategic planning efforts. Recently, she is leading a task force to explore the development of a center for civic engagement on campus. Sr. Helen Marie is known on campus as a gifted instructor and wonderful story teller. She came to Mount Aloysius College after having served most recently in the national leadership for the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy. She is a native of Iowa and completed her doctoral work in the School of Religion at the University of Iowa.
