Mount Aloysius College VITA

Welcome to the Mount Aloysius College VITA website! We will begin processing tax returns for tax year 2023 for those who qualify beginning February 19, 2024. To take advantage of this free tax return preparation service, please call our VITA Office during hours of operation (see hours to right) and schedule a time to drop off your tax documents and introduce yourself to our IRS-VITA Program certified volunteers.

Our services will be offered from February 19 – April 3, 2024.

The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program & Other Resources

The IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $60,000 or less, persons with disabilities, and limited English speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns.

Limitations apply relating to annual income level and types of tax returns necessary. In the event we may not be able to assist you with your taxes, we encourage taxpayers to explore and utilize free online resources like those listed below to learn about and do tax returns and to spread word of these resources to others in the community:

You can also use the IRS tool under “Alternative Local VITA Sites” below to look for other options if necessary. For more information about the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, visit the IRS VITA website. If you do not think you qualify for the VITA or online free filing programs, you can also search for paid tax preparers through the IRS directory to assist you with your return.

State and Local Tax Resources

Our VITA site will also provide assistance preparing Pennsylvania state and local income tax returns as well as property tax rebate applications for tax year 2023. For local tax returns and property tax rebate applications, your provider should be mailing you forms and instructions (please bring with you when you schedule your appointment). You may also visit the following links for state income tax, property tax/rent rebate, and local income tax resources:
