Mount Aloysius Alumni Association

The Mount Aloysius Alumni Association is dedicated to fostering a lifelong relationship between the College and its alumni and promoting their mutual welfare and advancement.

The Mount Aloysius Alumnae Association was organized at the time of the opening of the new Academy in Cresson on June 16, 1897, with Mollie (Bracken) Fleming of Burlington, Iowa, as president. The first regular meeting was held on September 6, 1898. With the graduation of the Class of 1970, the organization changed its name to the Mount Aloysius Alumni Association.

St. Aloysius Academy, established in 1853 in Loretto, PA was moved to Cresson, PA, present site of the College, in 1897 and subsequently renamed Mount Aloysius Academy. The Junior College was founded in 1939, and the 1941 graduates became members of the Alumnae Association. The Academy and Junior College ran consecutively until the class of 1941 graduated. In 1968, the Junior college became co-educational. In 1991, Mount Aloysius Junior College became Mount Aloysius College with baccalaureate degrees first awarded to the class of 1993. In the spring of 2000, the College’s charter was amended to include master’s degrees.

Mount Aloysius Bookstore Discount

Mount Aloysius Library Privileges for Alumni

Alumni may obtain a free Mount Aloysius College library card at the circulation desk. Valid identification and a completed library registration form are required. Up to five circulating books may be checked out for 30 days with one renewal. Books may be renewed by phone or in person.

Online resources are available for searching. Whether or not they have a library card, alumni may be logged on to a library computer by a staff member depending upon availability. A computer use policy form is signed prior to being logged on. Information may be saved to a device or emailed, but printing and copying services are not available to alumni.

Children 15 and under must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian while in the library.

Mount Aloysius College and the Alumni Association’s Executive Board recognize alumni on an annual basis during Alumni & Homecoming Weekend held each fall.

There are three awards, typically with one of each award given out per year at the Alumni Recognition Dinner.
  1. Distinguished Alumni Award: Honoring those who have distinguished themselves over a period of years and have achieved a pinnacle position in their chosen profession.
  2. Young Alumni Achievement Award: Honoring those who have distinguished themselves in their chosen profession and are 40 years old or younger.
  3. Alumni Service Award: Honoring those who have distinguished themselves above others as having given their time to projects or functions for the advancement of Mount Aloysius College.
