Mount Aloysius Student Earns National Writing Accolades

Cresson, Pa. — Mount Aloysius College sophomore, Alyson Corey has received notification from Delta Epsilon Sigma (DES), the national catholic honor society, that her short fiction story has earned a second place nomination in their national writing contest. Mount Aloysius Celebrates Miracle Grotto’s 100th Year

Cresson, Pa. — In 1918, a great influenza epidemic swept over the country and hundreds of thousands of people died. The Sisters of Mercy at Mount Aloysius helped care for the sick and healing prayers were offered daily at the Grotto of Our Lady. Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College conferred degrees upon 113 graduates during ceremonies held recently for students who had completed their degree requirements after the Fall Semester of 2018. Vox Nova Presents “Timeless Love” Concert

Vox Nova will present a concert of love songs on Tuesday, Feb. 12, at 7:00pm in Our Lady of Mercy Chapel. “Timeless Love,” in honor of Valentine’s Day, traces various love songs through the centuries, from the 1400s to present day. Songs include “Somewhere” from West Side Story, “And So It Goes” by Billy Joel, and “O sole mio,” an Italian love song. Admission is $5.00 for general public. Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College is proud to release the Dean’s List for Fall Semester 2018. The Dean’s List is issued each semester and honors students enrolled in 12 or more semester hours who have achieved a 3.50 grade point average (GPA), or students enrolled in nine to 11 semester hours and earned a GPA of 3.70. or students enrolled in six to eight semester hours and earned a 3.9 GPA. Mounties Use Break to Give Back

Cresson, Pa. — Mount Aloysius College students forwent hours of television binge watching, napping and other college break staples to help the Raleigh, NC community. Twelve Mounties, accompanied by two MAC staff members, volunteered with Habitat For Humanity in the national collegiate challenge.
