You’ll find an assortment of beautiful state parks just minutes from Mount Aloysius, including Prince Gallitzin, Blue Knob, Canoe Creek, and Yellow Creek. There are plenty of nearby locations for biking, boating, cross-country skiing, fishing, golfing, hunting, swimming, and more.

For a break from classes or studies, you can hike or ride a mountain bike in the wooded areas around campus. In the spring and summer, toss a frisbee or football on the wide green lawns. Mount Aloysius is a center for outdoor life, but the convenience of modern shopping, dining, and entertainment is nearby, too. A fifteen-minute drive in one direction brings you to the city of Altoona. Drive twenty-five minutes in the other direction and you’ll find more shopping, restaurants, theatres, malls and entertainment in the city of Johnstown.
