Christopher Mingyar, CMA, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Business. For many years he was the Chair of the Department, and created the Bachelor of Science programs of Accounting and Business Administration, as well as the MBA program. He established the relationship between the Business program and the ACBSP. He was instrumental in beginning the Service Learning program at the college, and has served on various committees and task forces.
Prior to coming to Mount Aloysius, Mr. Mingyar worked at the West Virginia University Foundation, Inc. and was the Director of Business Affairs when he came to the Mount. At the Foundation he worked with Board of Directors’ Investment Committee to establish investment policy, and worked with investment advisors to administer endowment funds & charitable trusts. He also managed the Foundation’s cash, and provided oversight for real estate gifts given for the benefit of the University.
Mr. Mingyar has served on the Board of Directors of the Blair County United Way, including its Finance Committee; his church Finance Council; is Past President of the Altoona Chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants; and has been involved in various other community efforts. He is a Certified Management Accountant, and has passed CFA Level I. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and an Master of Business Administration degree, both from West Virginia University.
