An Accounting degree at Mount Aloysius College is specifically designed to prepare students for the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) examination and career advancement immediately after graduation. Students gain real-world experience as they complete their study.
Many students take advantage of the 4+1 program enabling them to earn their MBA Degree in as little as 5 years, which also fulfills the 150 credit hours for the CPA.
A grounding in Accounting gives students an excellent foundation for advancement in a variety of careers including corporate leadership, general business, finance, law, law enforcement and government service.

Students graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting will:
- emphasize decision-making from an organizational perspective, integrating the traditional academic areas of accounting, finance, management, and marketing;
- integrate business theory with business practice, bridging the gap between the classroom and the work place;
- develop analytical and interpersonal skills necessary for problem solving;
- learn how to manage business information, blending technological expertise with written and oral communication skills;
- develop the technical skills necessary to begin a career in professional accountancy;
- appreciate the impact of the liberal arts on social activity and business enterprise; and
- become academically prepared for graduate and further study.
