At Mount Aloysius College, future teachers have the ability to study their subject matter in-depth while still obtaining the required certification for becoming a teacher. - Special education minor available
- Post-baccalaureate option available for those who already have a degree in English, Biology, History, or Political Science
- Choose from English, HPGA, or Biology to specialize in

Most high school teachers work in either public or private schools. Some teach in public, magnet, and charter schools. Others teach in private, religious or secular schools.

The bachelor’s degree has student teaching assignments. Junior students tutor students in reading as part of coursework. Student teaching and tutoring placements occur in local private and public schools.
The demand for high school teachers is expected to rise 5% from 2021 to 2031, an increase of 48,700 jobs.
The average median wage for a high school teacher is $61,820.

Each year our Advisory Board hosts a mock interview session for students to network with local education leaders and hone their interview skills.
