- English, with a Secondary Education Specialization, B.A.
- History/Political Science, with a Social Studies Secondary Education Specialization, B.A.
- Biology, with a Secondary Education Specialization, B.S.

Most high school teachers work in either public or private schools. Some teach in public, magnet and charter schools. Others teach in private, religious or secular schools.
The demand for high school teachers is expected to rise 6% from 2014 to 2024, an increase of 55,900 jobs.
The average median wage for a high school teacher in the state of Pennsylvania is $64,380.
