In this fast-paced, intensive program, an emphasis on strong work ethic and critical thinking strengthens students across a mix of classroom work, clinicals, and work in our Nursing Simulation Center. As a cohort-based program, students enter the process as full-time students.

Upon completion of the program, graduates will earn a Bachelor’s degree with a major in Second-Degree BSN and will be able to:

Gain Real Experience with One-on-One Training
Students in the second-degree BSN program at the Mount take a preceptorship as part of their final semester at the College. The preceptorship experience is designed to give students an opportunity to really see what it’s like to be a nurse by shadowing and working directly with a nurse employed in a local hospital or clinic. Student nurses will gain valuable real-world experience and insight into the nursing profession, allowing them to assimilate seamlessly into their careers after graduation.

Post-Baccalaureate Students
- Apply for acceptance prior to January 15th for the upcoming Fall semester.
- For any student whose native language is not English will need to take one of the English language proficiency examinations listed below:
- TOEFL iBT of 84 or higher total score with a minimum speaking score of 26
- TOEFL PBT of 540 or high total score
- IELTS Academic score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum of 6.0 in each module
- PTE Academic score of 55 or higher overall, with no Communicative Skills sub-scores lower than 50 in each part,
- MELAB with Speaking score of 81 or higher overall total score and a minimum score of 3 on the speaking test is required as part of the application for an individual whose primary language is not English.
- Hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university demonstrating a minimum 2.5 CPGA as verified by official transcript at the time of application.
- Completion of all prerequisite science courses (CHEM100, BIOL201/201L, BIOL202/202L, BIOL210, BIOL112) with a minimum C grade (within the past 7 years); and
- Demonstrate a CGPA of 2.5 in the prerequisite science courses.
*Students graduating with a baccalaureate degree the spring prior to fall matriculation may be evaluated on a case-by-case basis dependent on space available.
