Service-Learning at Mount Aloysius College is a method of instruction in which students learn the content of the curriculum while actively participating in and reflecting on experiences that benefit both the community and the students. A position paper was affirmed by the faculty in October 2005 in which this definition of the program is articulated, as well as statements regarding:
- The program’s relevance to Mount Aloysius College (MAC)
- Different models of learning
- The approach that should be taken at MAC
- A proposed timeline for implementation
Mount Aloysius College continues to develop its program through a committee, monies available for projects, or an annual Service-Learning Exposition.
