Portage Public Library

The Library Assistant works directly with the Library Director. The Assistant: covers books, prepares books for shelving, carts materials, shelves materials, re-shelves and maintains the appearance of the collection, answers the phone, assists patrons in finding materials or locations in the library. Assist patrons with computers, printing, copying, and faxing. Perform duties at the desk to facilitate check-in and check- out, maintains files and records. Assist with preparing and implementing library programs. Also performs various other duties as assigned.
