Student would be required to plan and implement story hour sessions and programming for ages birth to 17 years old.  Sessions would align with the Pennsylvania Learning Standards.  The library offers story time and special programming to community children and Intermediate unit 8 (special needs children). Student would be required to strengthen outreach services with Head Start (Roaring Spring and Martinsburg), Garver YMCA and Tot Spot Preschool/Daycare. Story hour sessions include using emergent literacy skills, art/craft project as well as an activity. This person would be involved in planning and implementing tween/teen programming. This is a public library servicing a population of 6,424 persons in the Roaring Springs, East Freedom and Taylor Township area. The student would have the opportunity to work with special needs children, low-income children and young adults. The student would work alongside and report directly to the youth services coordinator.
