My motivation to join the GOLD Leadership Council was to support current and upcoming interpreting students. I have been privileged to receive support from many alumni who graduated before me, helping me become a certified interpreter. Without this support system of skilled Mount Alumni interpreters, I would not be where I am today. I hope this program enables current students and future alumni to make connections and find support more easily to grow and succeed.

Although the interpreting program may be small, it is crucial to continue emphasizing the growing demand for interpreters regionally, statewide, and nationwide.

I love supporting our local Deaf community and hope to continue supporting future Mountie students as an alum as well!

After Spencer reached out to me about the Gold Leadership Council opportunity, I knew I had to join. I have always been grateful to The Mount for teaching me to become the interpreter this Deaf community needs and I cherish the chance to help future Mountie interpreters in any way I can!

Upon graduating, I wanted to stay involved with the MAC community but wasn’t sure of the best route to do so. Being a part of the GOLD Leadership Council seems like a great way to continue to be active with MAC, network with current students, and stay connected to others who attended the college while I was there!

The roots of my career started at MAC and I will always be grateful for that! My love for mentoring the next generation of interpreters helps me give back to the community that shaped me. The GOLD Leadership Council helps me stay connected to current students and allows me to network with Alumni from other programs that I may not have interacted with when I was a student.

I am incredibly grateful for all of the opportunities Mount Aloysius College awarded me. Joining the GOLD Leadership Counseling ensures current and future Mounties have opportunities to network and participate in personal and professional development.

I joined the GOLD Leadership Council because I’m proud to be an alumnus!

The idea of providing guidance and feedback for current students to help them reach their ultimate goals is what motivated me to potentially become a part of the GOLD Council. Additionally, the plan to build a strong alumni network will help serve Mounties for years to come!

Joining the GOLD Leadership Council is my way of giving back to the college, and more specifically the MAC Theatre Department, that gave so much to me during my time as a student. It is also my way of remembering my dear friend, Tim Michrina, who we lost entirely too soon. Playing a part in helping the next generation of students grow their love of theatre and achieve their educational goals is my way of saying thank you.

I was motivated to join the GOLD Leadership Council because I really value mentoring and supporting students, especially interpreting majors, who are just starting their journeys. Many of them may very well be my coworkers in the near future, and I think it’s important to invest in their growth and confidence early on. I also see this as a way to give back to a community that has given me so much through mentorship, encouragement, and opportunities. Being able to support the next generation while staying connected and involved feels incredibly meaningful to me.

 I am passionate about helping to develop future leaders and preparing students for the workforce. After meeting with Spencer and hearing the great things happening on campus for students, as well as volunteering at events like mock interviews and alumni networking events I wanted to become further involved in the Mountie Community.
