“Bewitched,” “You’ll Never Walk Alone,” “My Funny Valentine,” and “The Sound of Music” are only a few of the most recognizable songs of the Broadway repertoire from the creative genius of Richard Rodgers. He had a gift for melody that is not often surpassed for the stage. Rodgers’ longest collaborations were with lyricists Lorenz Hart and Oscar Hammerstein III. Each created verses of such distinction that it greatly influenced Richard Rodgers’ style of composition. The listener will sample works from each musical duo and hear the influence of both lyricists. The entertainment, familiarity and quality of these songs make for an entertaining experience.
