Vox Nova Concert & Alumni Reception

We’re excited to invite all Vox Nova alumni to join us for a special evening on March 6. The evening will start with a reception offering appetizers, refreshments, and an opportunity to connect with fellow alumni prior to the concert. The concert will take place immediately after the reception.

The concert, titled “Hope, Love and Sacrifice,” recounts the story of Jesus’ journey to Calvary through the Stations of the Cross. His sacrifice, born out of perfect love, is portrayed in each scene with a choral selection, emphasizing the emotional impact of his walk of hope for humanity. This annual Lenten concert is a beautiful rendering of the salvation of man in readings and song.

More About Vox Nova:

Vox Nova is the “new voice” at Mount Aloysius College, a choral ensemble of vocally talented students dedicated to the choral art.

All members of the ensemble are full-time students at the College enrolled in various degree programs. In this way, Vox Nova is uniquely designed for the non-music major. Every performer is auditioned and must meet and maintain strict musical and academic criteria. They are awarded with membership in the chorus and scholarships and stipends from Mount Aloysius.

Vox Nova performs in a variety of venues. The choir has a four concert series at Mt. Aloysius as well as other on-campus appearances. The assemble also travels outside the college to share their talent with audience members in a wide array of settings and music styles.
