Sandra McClure is currently a doctoral student at Gallaudet University in Department of Interpretation where she is concentrating her studies in Interpreting Research. She holds a Master’s of Science degree in American Sign Language (ASL)/English Interpreting: Interpreting Pedagogy from the University of North Florida, and a Bachelor’s of Arts in Criminal and Administrative Justice from Northern Arizona University. For the last four years, she has been living in and working in the Washington, DC area but is originally from Tucson, AZ where she started her interpreting career. She has been working professionally as a sign language interpreter since 2009; she is nationally certified, and holds specialty certifications in legal interpreting and K-12 interpreting. She has been an interpreter educator and mentor since 2010.
