How can I get a copy of my 1098-T Tax form?

1098-T forms are mailed to eligible students no later than January 31st of every calendar year for the previous year. Because the forms are mailed, students should promptly update their address information with the Registrar’s Office if a change occurs. Students can contact the Business Office at 814-886-6368 or businessoffice@mtaloy.edu with any questions or concerns regarding their 1098-T form.

What is a 1098-T Tax form?

IRS Form 1098-T is an informational form. Per IRS regulations, this form is provided by the college to help students determine eligibility for educational tax credits, such as The American Opportunity Credit or the Lifetime Learning Credit. Does the college offer a payment plan?

A College Payment Plan is available to assist students in meeting their financial obligations. Payment plans can be set up on the MyMAC Portal Page using the Cashnet link or by calling the Business office at 814-886-6368. There is a non-refundable fee of $50.00 for the payment plan. How do I calculate how much to borrow in a Parent Plus loan or alternative loan?

We encourage students to contact the Business Office at businessoffice@mtaloy.edu or 814-886-6368 to have an estimate prepared by our staff for the academic year. You can contact our office anytime for an estimate, but to receive the most accurate estimate it is best to have your financial aid award and be registered for the upcoming semester.

How can I use my aid and/or loans to get books?

In the event that a student’s aid and/or loans exceed the cost of tuition and fees charged to a student’s account, a student can contact the Business Office to get a Bookstore Voucher to use in the college’s Bookstore. I am expecting a refund check, when will I get it?

In the event that a student’s aid and/or loans exceed the cost of tuition and fees charged to a student’s account, the college will issue a refund. Refunds are issued after the college officially receives the funding. Depending on the funding sources, this could take 8-10 weeks after the semester starts. When is tuition due?
