Welcome to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) Work Study Training

The Mount Aloysius College (MAC) is legally and ethically obligated to protect the confidentiality of students' records. The material that follows is designed to heighten awareness of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) in students who are employed by the College. Almost all employees will come into contact with student education information at one time or another.

As a result, we believe it is important to educate the College community, as a whole, in regards to its responsibility in regards to FERPA. As a work study in one of the various offices on campus, you will working with materials which are confidential and part of a student's record. It is important that you understand your responsibilities under FERPA.

Once you complete this training, you will be required to take a short quiz. At the end, you will be able to print out a certificate of completion and provide it to your supervisor in your office.
