Why Irish?

The history of the College is rooted in the life of the Religious Sisters of Mercy who founded and sponsor Mount Aloysius. Catherine McAuley founded the Religious Sisters of Mercy in Dublin, Ireland, in 1831 as a congregation devoted to service. It was one of the first active congregations of women religious in Ireland.

Why Mission & Service Trips?

Service is at the core of who we are at Mount Aloysius. In fact, it is one of our four Mercy Values: Mercy, Service, Justice, and Hospitality. Students at the Mount have the opportunity to serve both near and far, as our Mission and Ministry Office plans a variety of service trips each year. Some recent trips include serving the homeless of New York City and caring for orphaned children in Honduras.
