How Do You Enroll in Recurring Giving?
To enroll, select “Recurring Donation” on our secure online payment form or contact the Office of Advancement & Engagement at 814-886-6396 or advancementoffice@mtaloy.edu. Your regular contributions make a significant impact on the College community and its future.
How Does Recurring Giving Help Mount Aloysius College?
Your recurring contributions provide a reliable source of funding, reducing administrative costs and allowing more of each gift to support Mount Aloysius’ top priorities immediately.
How Does the Program Help You?
Enrolling means you won’t need to write and send checks, and you’ll receive fewer reminders from the College. Allowing deductions to continue year to year makes you one of Mount Aloysius’ most loyal and valued donors. Recurring giving also enables you to make your yearly contribution at a higher level, as your gift is divided into manageable monthly or quarterly increments. The College’s fiscal year is July 1 – June 30.

Gift Matching & Volunteer Grants
At Mount Aloysius College, we use a tool developed by Double the Donation to assist with matching gifts and volunteer grants. A matching gift is when your employer matches your donation to the College. Volunteer grants are a specific type of gift to a non-profit from your employer in exchange for your volunteering at that non-profit (ie. your employer donates $25 to Mount Aloysius for every hour you volunteer at the College).
Each employer has different rules and forms to complete, but our partnership with Double the Donation makes this process simple.
Visit our Matching Gifts & Volunteer Grants webpage to see if your employer participates in these types of programs and to learn more.

Gifts from IRA
Mount Aloysius College donors who are 70 ½ or older are eligible to make tax-free donations from their IRAs, known as Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCD), regardless of whether or not they itemize deductions on their tax returns.
Important Information About Retirement Accounts
Retirement accounts, such as those sponsored by employers, come with rules regarding Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs). RMDs are the minimum amounts that account holders must withdraw annually once they reach a certain age, typically 72. Failure to meet the RMD results in a hefty tax penalty, as 50% of the amount not withdrawn will be taxed. For those who do not need these funds for personal use, donating RMDs to charity is an excellent option. While the required withdrawals are included in taxable income and cannot be rolled into other tax-deferred accounts, donating them as Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) offers a tax-efficient way to fulfill philanthropic goals. By directing RMDs to charitable organizations, retirees can grow their giving portfolios and support the causes they care about, leveraging their retirement savings for greater social impact.
For more information or to initiate a gift, please contact the Office of Advancement & Engagement at 814-886-6396 or advancementoffice@mtaloy.edu.
Give by Donor-Advised Fund (DAF)
What is a Donor-Advised Fund?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is like a charitable savings account. When you make an irrevocable gift to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program, you get an immediate tax deduction and can recommend later how much and how often money is granted to Mount Aloysius College or other charities.
How Does It Work?
- Establish Your DAF: Make an irrevocable, tax-deductible donation to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.
- Advise Investment Allocation: Advise the investment allocation of the donated assets (any investment growth is tax-free).
- Recommend Grants: Recommend grants to qualified public charities of your choice.
If you choose to recommend a grant to Mount Aloysius College from your DAF, please ask the sponsoring organization to send checks made payable to “Mount Aloysius College” to the following address:

Bequests
Planning for the future and creating the legacy you wish to leave is one of the most effective ways to ensure a lasting impact. Making a gift in your will or living trust, known as a bequest, can guarantee that your legacy endures and continues to support the values and mission of Mount Aloysius College. Your gift may be a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder after all other provisions are specified. Bequests can be directed towards scholarships, academic programs, campus improvements, or unrestricted support, allowing the College to allocate funds where they are needed most.
If you would like more information about including Mount Aloysius in your bequest, please contact the Office of Institutional Advancement at 814-886-6396 or advancementoffice@mtaloy.edu.
Educational Improvement Tax Credits (EITC)
Pennsylvania provides tax credits for corporate contributions to Educational Improvement Organizations (nonprofits that support innovative programs in area schools through the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED).
Mount Aloysius College meets this need through our College in High School Program (Dual Enrollment) which allows high school students to receive college credit for applicable rigorous high school coursework.
