Cresson, Pa. — The Mount Aloysius College Theatre presented “The Addams Family” during the last weekend of October. The musical received immediate honors from the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival organization.

Kylee Snyder, a senior from New Paris, Pa, who portrayed Morticia and junior Courtney Moyer, of Ashville, Pa., who played Alice, were nominated to participate in the KCACTF Region 2 Irene Ryan acting scholarships. Additionally, sophomore Danielle Vella, of Ebensburg, Pa., was named an alternate for her portrayal of Wednesday.

The scene, “Secrets,” was also recommended for nomination to perform at the Region II KCACTF Festival in New Jersey in January.

“The recommendation itself is exciting, and we are thrilled about the opportunity to possibly perform at the festival. This is the second year in a row that we’ve received this recommendation. I am incredibly proud of the students and their accomplishments,” said Theatre Director Nathan Magee.

The Addams Family features an original story, and it’s every father’s nightmare. Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart young man from a respectable family – a man her parents have never met.
