LegathCresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius baseball player Benjamin Legath (Johnstown, Pa./Westmont) who excelled as a pitcher and designated hitter for the Mounties this season, was named to the 2014 All-Mideast Region Team on Wednesday.  Legath was the only area player to earn the recognition.

Legath earned a Third Team All-Region spot at the utility position, due to his prowess at the plate and on the hill for the Mounties and Head Coach Kevin Kime.

When he wasn’t pitching, Legath served as the Mount designated hitter, compiling a .387 batting average along with 43 hits, 21 RBI’s and a team-leading 11 doubles.

On the mound, Legath was the Mount’s number two pitching starter.  He registered a 4-3 record and 3.89 ERA in eight starts.

Legath helped lead Mount Aloysius to the AMCC Postseason Final Four for the third consecutive season.
