Cresson, Pa. – United States Representative Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson hosted the second annual Agriculture Summit in-person and virtually with help from Mount Aloysius College. The summit addressed Pennsylvania farmers’ concerns related to COVID-19 and the status of the next relief package.
Rep. Thompson was joined in-person on the Mount Aloysius campus by PA Farm Bureau President Rick Ebert. USDA Under Secretary Bill Northey and PA Agriculture Secretary Russell Redding joined the summit virtually. Nearly 100 people attended the summit live via Zoom, and were able to submit their questions for the panelists to answer.
“This year’s agriculture summit provided valuable feedback about how the pandemic has affected rural America—feedback that will be critical as Congress continues to address the impacts of COVID-19 upon the agricultural sector,” said Rep. Thompson.
