Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College has been recognized by ModernThink as a 2026 Great College to Work For. The College achieved exceptional workplace status based on its rankings in the shared governance category. Only 54 four-year institutions nationally received the Great College to Work For designation this year. This is the fourth year that the Mount has received Great College recognition.

“The Mount’s achievements reflect the dedication, teamwork, and synergy that occur across our campus each day,” said John N. McKeegan, president of Mount Aloysius College, said in an email to employees. “Our commitment to supporting one another and our students, alongside our alignment with the Sisters of Mercy’s mission, distinguishes the Mount as a unique and vibrant community.”

The Great Colleges to Work For program assesses institutions in two steps. The first is a survey sent to faculty and staff asking them to rank a variety of aspects of working at an institution. The second step is a questionnaire that captures employment data and workplace policies and practices. Feedback from employees is the principal factor in determining whether an institution is considered a Great College to Work For.

171 total colleges and universities, including 105 four-year institutions, participated in the Great Colleges to Work For program in 2026. Mount Aloysius will be featured in a special insert in The Chronicle of Higher Education.
