Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College ranked third on Cybersecurity Guide’s 2024 list of the top 25 cybersecurity associate degrees across the country. Professional rankings and accreditations assure students they will receive a quality education in their area of study.

“We’re proud of our dedicated cybersecurity faculty and students, and we’re grateful that our program is again recognized for real excellence,” said Dr. Dave Haschak, Vice President for Academic Affairs at the Mount. “This ranking from Cybersecurity Guide, along with other national recognition, legitimizes the quality of our cybersecurity offerings and helps us to maintain the high standards we’ve established.”

The College’s cybersecurity program was named a Center of Academic Excellence in 2022 by the NSA and Department of Homeland Security and continues to uphold this distinction. It is one of only a few schools in PA to have this title. In 2023, the College updated the cybersecurity lab with state-of-the-art equipment to better train the next generation of cyberdefense professionals.

“This honor from Cybersecurity Guide will boost the growth of our program,” said Justin Williams, chair of the information technology department at the Mount. “Our students have been instrumental in helping us build and complete the new lab, and I’m glad their hard work has been recognized.”

Cybersecurity Guide strives to compile the most thorough collection of cybersecurity information that is used by higher education institutions, industry professionals, and technology companies. The organization only considers programs that are Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity, and rankings are determined by several factors, including graduation rates, retention data, and tuition costs.
