Cresson, Pa.- To ring in the Christmas season, the Mount Aloysius College Theatre Department will be presenting Charlie Brown Christmas. Performances will be held in Alumni Hall at Mount Aloysius on November 11 and 12 at 6:30 p.m., and on November 13 at 10:00 a.m.
In addition to the three public performances, the department invites area students and their families to attend the show on Friday, November 12 at noon.
The show follows Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang as Charlie not only becomes the director of the Christmas play, but also searches for the true meaning of Christmas.
“The last few years have been so difficult. Charlie Brown is that quintessential kid that never wins, and I think lots of people feel that they can’t get a win right now,” said Dan Evers, MAC assistant professor making his Mount Aloysius directorial debut with this show. “So I think a lot of people can relate to wanting to make those connections to the holiday spirit. I think it’ll be fun for the whole family.”
The cast includes: Andy Auker as Charlie Brown; Noah Ports as Snoopy; Anne Way as Lucy; Wes Caton as Linus; Pig Pen as Alexander Minnick; Halle Clark as Frieda; Thomas McElhinny as Schroeder; Alison Ritchey as Violet; Maddison Caldwell as Sally; Tess Masood as Patty; Jeremiah Starks as Shermy; and Lindsay Sekeres as the show’s understudy.
Tickets are free with a donation and are available at the door. Masks are required per Mount Aloysius COVID requirements. For questions about the production, call Dan Evers at (814) 886-6409.
