Cresson, Pa. – Mount Aloysius College will highlight research and experiential learning this week in the First Annual Student Experiential Showcase. This event combines the 18th Annual Research Symposium with the former Service Learning Expo into a new event to allow students to share their experiences. Sixty-four posters representing more than one hundred students will be shared in the College’s Athletic Convocation & Wellness Center (ACWC) on April 27 from 3:30 to 5:00 pm.
Posters will be presented in a wide range of topics including biology, education, medical imaging, nursing, and psychology. Members of the community are invited to attend the Showcase to discuss the work the students have completed or connect for future opportunities.
“Participating in research gives students an opportunity to explore a topic they are personally interested in while sharpening their critical and creative thinking skills,” said Dr. Merrilee Anderson, chair of the Student Research Committee. “It can also allow engagement in community concerns, and encourages curiosity for a lifetime of learning.”
