Two MAC nursing faculty members, Nicole Custer, Ph.D., and Heather Zonts, Ph.D., contributed to “ Academic Clinical Nurse Educator Review Book: The Official NLN Guide to the CNE®cl Exam.”  Using their nursing experience, they brought their knowledge to the table and shared expertise that aided in the creation of the manual.

An academic clinical nurse educator uses the lessons that students learn in the classroom and applies them to real-world clinical experiences.  This educator works with college faculty to create a well-rounded education for nursing students. The exam discussed in the book, the Academic Clinical Nurse Educator Certification Exam, standardizes the qualifications of the position and allows nursing educators to demonstrate their expertise in this role.

This collaboration will not only benefit readers, but the MAC nursing department as well!.  Dr. Zonts comments, “It was an exciting project! The experience will not only help other educators, it will help us with the formation of future nursing education strategies at Mount Aloysius College.”  Dr. Custer also thinks that this manual is a “great resource for our faculty to enhance student learning in the clinical setting.”
