As the marketing manager for CamTran and the Johnstown Inclined Plane, Korrin Fisher ‘21 handles a wide variety of marketing efforts. From social media posts to video projects, she is the brains behind many of the CamTram advertising campaigns that are broadcast to the local community.

“I love the creative aspect of my job,” Korrin says. “I have the opportunity to brainstorm new ideas and create every aspect of them, like employee profile videos or Rides with Santa Claus, and I even have the opportunity to design some of our artwork.”

As a Mountie alumni, Korrin sees the value of her experiences both as a student and as a work-study in the College’s communications department. As part of her degree, she was able to intern with Innovative Extracts through the internship practicum course.

“That helped to get me thinking about how my communications skills apply to a real company and what aspects go into marketing, even for a startup company.”

Through these experiences and because of her professors, Korrin learned how to use WordPress, edit in Adobe Photoshop and Premiere, create effective advertising and marketing collateral, and more.

“The many communications faculty and staff want to share their knowledge with you–so just ask. The professors at the Mount care about you and they care about your success. So let them tell you stories about what they learned working in Communications, or any field really, and learn from it. Their knowledge will push you forward, I promise.”
