When Madison finished high school, she wasn’t sure what direction life would take her.
“I really didn’t know what I wanted to do,” Madison said. “My dad told me about the Mount Aloysius College radiography program at DuBois hospital, and I decided to check it out.”
With a family of her own, it was important that she found a program that could fit around her life and her needs.
“There are only two faculty members here so they really get to know you and your life. The educational experience is really personalized. They really know your strengths and weaknesses,” Madison said. “The fact that this program is entirely in DuBois also makes it really convenient.”
It wasn’t just the DuBois location that made the college process easy for her.
“Even though we’re not in Cresson, we have all the resources that the main college has,” Madison said. “It’s all very personalized and they’re easy to reach and talk to about any questions.”
Madison feels confident that she will find a job she loves after graduating, especially since the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows the demand for radiologic technologists is expected to rise 9% from 2014 to 2024, an increase of 17,200 jobs.
“This is a great path for anyone in this area,” Madison said. “I recommend you talk to someone at the college and find out for yourself.”
