Sabrina Guida and Kylee Snyder, 2019 graduates from MAC’s ASL English Interpreting program, were accepted for an exciting internship their senior year of college! Both were chosen as interns for ASL Services, an interpreting service in Kissimmee, Florida. In order to be considered for this position, Sabrina and Kylee had to submit a resume, college transcript, letters of recommendation, multiple videos of their signing abilities, and three short essays.

They were given the opportunity to sign along a professional, and then they put their skills to the test and interpreted alone. Along with these tasks, Sabrina and Kylee had to keep a weekly journal of their work and attended weekly meetings. Some of the responsibilities included learning how to communicate with clients and other interpreters, interpreting in the “real world”, and improving their interpreting and professional skills.
