While dual majoring in accounting and business administration, Crystal Cosgrove, ’18, ‘20, also was able to pick up an internship at Blair Image Elements during her sophomore year. Her time at Blair Image Elements quickly grew to an opportunity to fulfill the role of Lead Staff Accountant when she graduated.
During Crystal’s senior year, she worked as an Orientation Leader helping freshmen adapt to the Mount. She also had the opportunity to take part in the rewarding Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program, preparing tax returns for low-income community members. Crystal’s VITA team was able to double the number of tax returns they received in a season from 212 to over 400.
After graduating with her undergraduate degrees, she took the opportunity to further her education by obtaining her Master’s Degree in Business Administration. As she worked toward her MBA, she also served as a graduate resident director on campus and continued to work at Blair Image Elements.
Thanks to her hard work and dedication at Blair Image Elements, Crystal was asked to take on a substantial role at Lakemont Park Center LCC, helping to make the park financially successful. She was also recently named to Pennsylvania Business Central’s “30 Under 30” list.
With all her success at Mount Aloysius College and at Blair Image Elements, Crystal is thrilled to see what the future will bring. She credits the College and her internship class for preparing her to enter the workforce.
“The internship class was, by far, the most beneficial part of the Mount for me,” said Crystal. “I was able to easily apply practical classroom knowledge to my job. Without an internship, I believe I would have been more nervous and shy going into my first ‘big girl’ job post-degree than I was having had the opportunity to work in a professional setting while in undergrad.”
