This scholarship was established in 1993 for commuting students by Adelaide G. Heverly Welge, in honor of the Sisters of Mercy who taught in the Altoona area schools.

Criteria:
  • Minimum GPA of 2.0 must be maintained.
  • Junior or senior standing.
  • Must be a commuter student.
  • Preference to students who reside in Altoona, Blair County; then Cambria County.
