Throughout her life, Vida demonstrated extraordinary strength in the face of hardship, working tirelessly to care for her family while remaining deeply rooted in her faith and committed to serving others. Before her passing, she left her children with one enduring piece of advice: to “keep a good name” throughout life. Today, the Durbin Family Endowed Fund honors that charge by investing in students whose education will enable them to build lives marked by character, service, and opportunity.
Established in her honor, the fund reflects the Durbin family’s shared commitment to expanding educational opportunity for future generations. By providing financial assistance to Mount Aloysius College students, the fund carries forward Vida’s legacy of compassion, hope, and service, ensuring that the values she lived, and the legacy of the Durbin family, continue to make a difference for generations to come.
