  • Did you know that Saint Aloysius is the patron saint of students? Aloysius de Gonzaga died in 1591 after caring for the victims of a Roman plague outbreak. He was canonized in 1726 by Pope Benedict XIII. You can find two statues of Saint Al on the MAC campus: one stands outside between Main, Cosgrave, and Ihmsen; the other is in Main at the top of the Golden Staircase. Both Mount Aloysius College and Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington are named for Saint Aloysius.  #MACFact
