“I felt so supported during the transfer process.

The atmosphere at the Mount is so friendly, the Mount handled everything. Already, I’m so integrated into the community, and my professors have gone out of their way to make sure I’m comfortable and that I understand the materials in my classes.”

Transfer Admissions FAQ’s

Most adult students at the Mount do both. The faculty and staff here will work with you in all aspects of collegiate life. You may attend part-time, however, we encourage students to go full-time (at least 12 credits per semester). Financial aid and scholarship programs for full-time students are more numerous and more generous. Students who attend full-time typically finish their degree faster, and can enter the career market more quickly.

Our tuition and fees are deliberately lower than other quality private colleges and our bottom line cost of attending is often on par with public colleges and universities. If you are a full-time student (an undergraduate taking 12 or more credits or a graduate student taking nine or more credits), you may apply for full financial aid. About 99% of our full-time students receive scholarships and financial aid. The average aid package is based on grants and scholarships and is approximately $16,000. To learn more, contact the Financial Aid Office at 814-886-6357 or toll free 888-823-2220.

To give our students additional scheduling flexibility, the Mount offers some of our most popular classes online.

Mount Aloysius College offers a variety of courses in the day and evening. Certain courses are only offered during the day and most students eventually come to school during the day to complete their degree.

You can start at the beginning of the next academic term – Fall, Spring or Summer semesters.

For a bachelor’s degree, you can transfer up to 90 credits. For an associate’s degree, you can transfer up to 40 credits.

A ‘C’ grade or better is required for a class to transfer into the Mount. We do not accept grades below a C.

Many liberal arts courses have no time limit. Courses in the sciences must have been completed no more than seven years ago.

Contact us at admissions@mtaloy.edu, 814-886-6383, or toll-free at 888-823-2220. A counselor will be happy to review your specific situation, either by phone or in-person.

We have articulation agreements with colleges, business schools, and nursing schools throughout Pennsylvania. If you received an associate’s degree or RN diploma (for nurses), you may enter Mount Aloysius College with junior standing.
